Carbohydrates:
Carbohydrates are found in fruits, grains, vegetables, and dairy, and can be categorized as either simple carbs or complex carbs. Simple carbs are quickly processed, while the body takes longer to digest and absorb complex carbs.
Fat:
Your body requires dietary fat as a macronutrient for optimal health. Besides enhancing the taste and texture of food, fat is a valuable source of calories and energy. Essential fatty acids help support immunity, cell signaling, mood, and brain health.
Proteins
Protein is crucial for various body functions like hair growth, enzyme and organ function, and hormone production. When you eat protein, it breaks down into amino acids, which are essential for your body. There are 20 different types of amino acids. Nine of them are essential and can only come from food consumption, the other 11 are synthesized by your body.

and flavors to help you achieve your daily dietary needs.
Array of Micronutrients:
Micronutrients are needed to carry out certain chemical reactions within your body. Micronutrients consists of vitamins and minerals like vitamin A, vitamin C, potassium, magnesium, and more that work to maintain the brain, muscle, skin, bones, nerves, blood circulation and immune system. Several micronutrients are “essential”, meaning they cannot be made by the body. Different vitamins and minerals have different functions in your body and provide different benefits. Together, they help keep you healthy and your body performing at its best. Deficiencies in micronutrients are linked to heart disease, diabetes, certain cancers, osteoporosis, and more1 .
Animal and Plant-Based Proteins:
Different types of protein offer different benefits! Protein is not only found in muscle, but hair, skin, bone, and organ tissue too! It makes up enzymes that help to carry out reactions as well as carrying oxygen in your blood. Eating lean sources of protein can improve heart health, bone health, and weight control2.
A Wide Variety of Fruits:
Just like vegetables, fruits are rich in beneficial plant chemical that provide necessary vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants to the body. Fruits contain natural fiber that can improve satiety and prevent blood sugar spikes. Eating a wide variety of fruits will deliver different essential nutrients all while improving your gastrointestinal health, vision, and weight3.
A Wide Variety of Vegetables:
The more color on your plate, the more nutrients you will receive! Each color of vegetable signifies a different type of nutrient that it contains a large amount of. A diet rich in vegetables lowers blood pressure, reduces risk of heart disease, diabetes, some types of cancers, and gastrointestinal issues3.
Beans, Lentils, and Legumes:
Beans, lentils, and legumes are full of plant-based proteins, fiber and other essential nutrients! This group of nutritionally dense foods have many benefits that make themc omparable to both vegetables and proteins. BEans, lentils and legumes are known for their protein content, low saturated fat content, vitamin and mineral profile, and rich taste. Eating them can help lower risk of heat disease, and improve gut health, glycemic control, blood cholesterol, and blood pressure4.
Healthy Fats:
Healthy fats arent just good for your heart, they are good for your brain too! Not all fat is bad fat-unsaturated fatty acids, monosaturated and polyunsaturated, can improve cholesterol profile and lower the fat levels in your blood5. Sources of healthy fats include: salmon, tuna, chia seeds, eggs, avocado, flaxseed, nuts, seeds, olives, and olive oil.
